The Swedish People’s Party is Finland’s liberal party
We believe in democracy, the rule of law, and the equal worth of every individual.
We are a voice for an open, international, and forward-looking society, where everyone has the opportunity to grow and shape their own future. We work tirelessly for a Finland with two national languages, Swedish and Finnish.
We believe in education and lifelong learning. A strong Finland is built on curiosity, participation, knowledge, and an active civil society. We believe in Europe. Global challenges require joint solutions, and for us it’s self-evident that Finland must play an active role in the international community. We believe in entrepreneurship. Finland needs more people who dare to invest in their ideas and seize the opportunity to succeed. We believe in equality. We want a Finland where everyone has equal chances to thrive, where freedom and responsibility go hand in hand.

Our Schools
Finland should have the best education system in the world — from early childhood education to higher education. Our nation’s success is built on high-quality, equitable education, as well as world-class research, development, and innovation. Access to libraries, culture, and open learning environments is essential for a well-educated society. Education and bildung shape our shared identity, promotes dialogue, and strengthens democracy.
Our Economy
We believe in entrepreneurship. Finland needs more people who dare to take risks and chase success. Innovation, entrepreneurship, and growth-oriented policies are the way forward. An open Finland, one that welcomes ideas, talent, and investment is a Finland that grows. A dynamic business climate strengthens our country, supports domestic ownership, and creates jobs and confidence in the future. A sustainable economy requires fair and competitive taxation that always encourages work.
Our Well-being
We want to build a strong and inclusive welfare society where everyone receives the support they need. Social and health services must be accessible to all and function effectively in both of our national languages. Preventive care and early support are key to long-term well-being. We work to ensure that health and social services respond to individual needs regardless of background or circumstances, ensuring no one is left behind.
Our World
Our politics are guided by cooperation, sustainability, and faith in the future. A successful Finland is open, welcoming, and international. Our national defense provides security, and NATO membership ensures that Finland is never alone. The Swedish People’s Party is Finland’s most pro-European party. We defend politics based on cooperation, agreements, and shared commitments. Strong Nordic cooperation enhances Finland’s role in the world. We will always work for a more democratic, equal, and just global community.
Our Environment
We want a sustainable Finland that tackles climate change, biodiversity loss, and the over exploitation of natural resources. A sustainable future requires fair, innovative, and long-term solutions as well as a rapid green transition. We support environmentally conscious taxation where the polluter pays. Climate and environmental action should be part of everyday life and considered in every decision.
Our Society
We stand for an open and democratic society where everyone’s freedoms and rights are respected. Everyone has the right to safety and to live free from discrimination, harassment, and violence. We see diversity as a strength that enriches our country and forms a natural part of Finland’s future. An independent and free media is essential for a functioning democracy.
