Ethical guidelines for the Swedish people’s party of Finland r.p.

These guidelines guide The Swedish people’s party’s candidates, trustees and personnel regarding ethics in practical contexts.
As a candidate, trustee or part of our personnel you represent the party. Your actions, your behavior and your statements will be reviewed from that point of view. To represent the party thereby implicates a personal responsibility for each and everyone of us.
The political work shall be characterized by mutual respect. Openness, honesty and availability is the core to our communication.
The party’s representatives:
• Follow the party’s statues and respect the goals set in the party program and sectoral programs.
• Have a responsibility to care for and help develop the party’s values
• Uphold the voters trust and live up to the promises made by the party
• Debate with respect for each other
• Will not resort to insults, personal attacks nor belittling comments
• Will not act for their own personal gain
• Respect the professional secrecy regarding internal affairs
• Will provide contact information that is up to date and will appear under their own name: not anonymously nor under a pseudonym.
• Is responsible for the content on their websites, their blogs and their social media channels. The representative shall take into account how their behavior on different media outlets affect oneself and the party.
During any of the party’s events there is a zero-tolerance policy regarding any type of harassment, which all of the party’s representatives shall respect and oblige. The party’s representatives are also obliged to intervene in the case of possible misconduct.
A person acting against the ethical rules can be banned from future party events by the party executive board.
If a representative of the party finds himself/herself in a tough situation that can lead to negative publicity, the representative has a responsibility to inform the party executive thereof.
Anyone who is suspected of, or charged with a crime is urged to take time off from his/her position of trust. The nature of the offense may affect the assessment. A candidate or elected representative who is convicted of a serious offense is asked to resign from his/her candidacy and/or position of trust.

These guidelines guide participants that attend events organized by The Swedish people’s party’s regarding ethics in practical contexts.
Political work shall be characterized by mutual respect. Openness, honesty and availability is the core to our communication. These ethical guidelines shall be followed at all events organized by the Swedish People’s party, but will also be respected throughout all party operations.
Attendees at the party’s events:
- Debate with respect for each other
- Treat everyone equally
- Will not resort to insults, personal attacks nor belittling comments
- Will not act for their own personal gain
- Respect the professional secrecy regarding internal affairs
- Do not speak in a way that is likely to mislead or cause harm
- Will provide contact information that is up to date and will appear under their own name: not anonymously nor under a pseudonym.
- Are responsible for the content on their websites, their blogs and their social media accounts. The representatives shall take into account how their behavior on different media outlets affects one self and the party.

For larger events, specific harassment contact officers are chosen, in other cases you can contact the party’s harassment contact officers Christoffer Hällfors and Annica Tallqvist.
A person acting against the ethical rules can be banned from future party events by the party executive board. The guidelines are constantly updated and as a participant at events organized by the party, you have a responsibility to follow the standing guidelines.
The party’s ethical guidelines are intended as a guide to what the party’s ethical line is and in case of any unclarity participants are always encouraged to contact the party organization. These guidelines do not under any circumstances replace existing legislation but are used as support and supplementation where legislation does not clearly define codes of conduct.
