The Parliament today debated the interpellation made against the government regarding the unemployment crisis. In her group speech, vice chair of SFP, MP Sandra Bergqvist stressed the fact that the way out of the crisis is to create better conditions for entrepreneurship and investment.
On Wednesday, Otto Andersson, Chair of the Swedish Parliamentary Group, spoke in the opening debate of the parliamentary session. He underlined the need for cooperation.
SFP went into both the municipal and county elections with strong candidate lists. Once the votes had been counted, the results confirmed good outcomes for the party, not only in the county elections but also in many municipalities. SFP grew in several municipalities and goes into the next electoral term as the biggest party in the wellbeing services counties of East Uusimaa and Ostrobothnia.
The Orpo cabinet is nearly at its half-way mark and this week the government met to make decisions on public finances for the years 2026–2029. Suitable conditions for the growth that Finland needs must be laid now, despite today’s challenging global economy and circumstances.
The activities of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe (ALDE) Party and its youth organisation, LYMEC (European Liberal Youth), have recently been classified by the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation as “undesirable” in Russia. The President of the Swedish People’s Party, Minister of Education Anders Adlercreutz, and SFP’s MEP Anna-Maja Henriksson condemn the move, while also finding it unsurprising.
“Today, on national Entrepreneur’s Day, the government approved a bill on local bargaining. It is something the SFP has long been working for. This is an important step towards increased flexibility in the workplace and higher productivity in businesses,” explains SFP Party President and Minister of Education Anders Adlercreutz.

SFP launches its electoral manifesto for the municipal and county elections
The 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz is commemorated on 27 January 2025 with a ceremony in Oświęcim, Poland. Finland is represented by President Alexander Stubb and Minister of Education Anders Adlercreutz. Holocaust survivors are invited to the event, which will be held at the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp and will probably be the last one with survivors attending.
“Finland needs growth. It is only through growth that we can secure our welfare and services in the long term. We need a climate that incentivises and encourages people and companies to invest and employ in Finland,” says the Chair of the Parliamentary Group, Otto Andersson.
